American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section of the U.S. Consulate Guangzhou assists American citizens in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan provinces. The Consulate considers the provision of services to American citizens one of its most important missions in China. The unit provides passport services, birth registrations, assists with Federal benefits, offers notarial services, gives information on tax and voting, provides advice and information to Americans visiting and residing in China, and provides guidance to Americans whose family members or friends have U.S. visa questions.   The ACS Unit also provides emergency assistance to American citizens in distress: when an American is destitute, arrested, separated from minor children, or sick. In an emergency, the Embassy Duty Officer can be reached at any time by calling (8620) 8121-8000.

For complete information on the American Citizen Services Unit, please visit the U.S. Citizen Services Section of the U.S. Consulate Guangzhou’s website at http://guangzhou-ch.usembassy-china.org.cn/service.html

For information about travel to other countries and for world wide travel alerts for American citizens, please visit the official website of the Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs at http://travel.state.gov.
